Should you contact me before house hunting?
Absolutely! Even if you haven't so much as picked out homes to visit yet, it's important to see me first.
When I pre-qualify you, I help you look at your long and short term goals to determine how much of a monthly mortgage payment you can afford, and how much I can loan you. I do this by considering your goals along with your income and debts, employment and residence situations, your available funds for down payment and required reserves. It's short and to the point, and I keep the paperwork to a minimum!
I can pre-qualify you on-line, with a simple 15 minute phone interview, fax or snail mail you information. My goal is to have you pre-qualified within the hour of receiving your application. Of course finding the best loan program to meet your individual needs is the first priority.
Once you qualify, I’m able to provide your Realtor a “pre-qual” letter when you make an offer on a home. I write my letter based on your offer price and specific to the property. This shows you are a serious buyer and the seller won’t have to wonder if you qualify for their home.
You can always use the calculators available on my site to get an idea of how much mortgage you can afford -- but it's important to meet with me. For one thing, you'll need a Pre-Qualification Letter! For another thing, I may be able to find a different mortgage program that fits your needs better.
